Introducing the
National Trauma Institute
trauma-institute.com · Evidence-based education, PTSD resources & clinical expertise
I am thrilled to announce the launch of the Trauma Institute — a national resource dedicated to trauma education, PTSD treatment guidance, and recovery support. After more than a decade working directly with survivors, veterans, and first responders, I wanted to create something larger: a place where anyone, regardless of where they are in their journey, can find evidence-based information, trusted clinical resources, and a clear path toward healing.
The Trauma Institute brings together everything I have learned across my clinical career into one comprehensive platform. Whether you are newly trying to understand what PTSD is, supporting a loved one through recovery, or a clinician seeking specialized training — the Institute was built with you in mind.
“Recovery is not the erasure of what happened. It is the integration of experience — stronger for the breaks.”
The name — and spirit — of the Institute draws from kintsugi (金継ぎ), the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. The philosophy is simple: what has been broken can become more beautiful, more resilient, for having been mended. That belief is at the heart of everything we do at the Institute.
What is kintsugi? In Japanese tradition, broken ceramics are repaired with gold lacquer — honouring the fractures as part of the object’s history rather than something to hide or be ashamed of. At the Trauma Institute, healing does not mean erasing what happened. It means carrying it forward, transformed and stronger.
